New York: We are less than a week away from India’s first game at the T20 World Cup 2024 against Ireland at the Nassau County International stadium. But, the Indian camp is unhappy with the facilities provided to them for training to get acclimistised. The Indian team had their first practise session at the Cantiague Park in New York. Rohit and Rahul have called the facilities ‘average’ as per a report in News18. The Indian team has raised the concern with the temporary measures taken by the ICC in providing training facilities to Team India. The team was also not happy with the food arranged at the venue.
“Everything is makeshift – from pitches to other facilities. Safe to say everything is very average in nature. The team has raised their concerns,” a source close to developments told the website.
Meanwhile, the International Cricket Council (ICC) was asked regarding the same, they responded saying that “there has been no complaint or concern expressed regarding the practice facilities at Cantiague Park by any team”.
India will lock horns against Bangladesh for a warm-up game on June 1 at the newly built Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, to get familiar with the unknown conditions of pitches in the USA.
Indian team will be aiming to win their second T20 WC title since they won the inaugural edition of the tournament back in 2007 under the leadership of MS Dhoni. In the T20 World Cup 2022, Indian team reached the semi-finals but lost to England by 10 wickets.
