The 22-year-old Riyan Parag is in the news for all the right reasons at the moment. He had a phenomenal season with the bat for Rajasthan Royals, accumulating more than 500 runs as his franchise played until Qualifier 2 in the Indian Premier League. Parag, who has often been slammed for his careless attitude and lack of runs, was promoted in the batting order by the management.
He justified the coach’s and captain’s trust and won several games for the 2008 champions. Parag is likely to play for India in the five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe after the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Parag is a big fan of Virat Kohli and wants to become consistent like him. He has been following the veteran cricketer from the early stage of his career and is often seen copying the trademark strokes of the 35-year-old.
In his recent conversation with Sportskeeda, he was asked to name a GOAT (Greatest of All Time), one from India and one from other countries.
“From India, it has to be Virat Kohli. Apart from him, Rashid Khan is the other name. He has been consistent but I didn’t remember for how many years. He is on that track for sure. I don’t think I could name anyone else other than Virat when it comes to india.”
