Virat Kohli has left for New York to join the Indian team ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. He was seen at the Mumbai Airport on Thursday. The star batter, who took a break after the Indian Premier League 2024, will reunite with the players on Friday.
Apart from Kohli, all the other squad members have started practicing before the Men in Blue’s first game against Ireland on June 5. India will take on Pakistan on June 9.
Prior to the group stage matches, India will compete against Bangladesh in a warm-up contest on June 1.
Meanwhile, the 35-year-old Virat was in exceptional form for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 17th season. He scored 741 runs in 15 matches and was the Orange Cap winner for the second time in his career.
Kohli hit a hundred and five fifties and accumulated his runs at a strike rate of above 150.
Kohli has been one of the top performers in the history of the T20 World Cup.
