But till 2024, the Indian Cricket Board has once again decided to take experienced players. 37-year-old Rohit Sharma will lead the team in this T20 World Cup. Apart from him, 10 players in the 15-member squad are above 30 years of age.

10 players above 30 years of age

Captain Rohit Sharma has crossed 37 years of age, while Virat Kohli is in good form but he too has crossed 35 years of age. 10 players in the squad are aged 30 or above, including Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Yuzvendra Chahal.

At the same time, only Team India has 5 players below 30 years of age. The list of young players can only include Rishabh Pant, Arshdeep Singh, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson. Also, four of the reserve players are below 30 years of age.

When will India play the first match?

The Indian team will begin their T20 World Cup campaign against Ireland on June 5. India have been placed in Group A, which includes Pakistan, Canada and host nation USA in addition to India-Ireland. India will face arch rivals Pakistan on June 9.
