Actually, Lyon has chosen Australia as the first name and this is not surprising as he is also an Australian. However, he has chosen Pakistan as the second team, which has surprised everyone. He has said that the reason behind choosing Pakistan is the balance of the team. On the other hand, there are many great players who have chosen India as the favorite for this tournament. Recently, he has given a big statement during a conversation with Prime Video SportsAU.
He said, “For the T20 World Cup final, I will obviously choose Australia because I am a bit biased. I think I will choose Pakistan as the second team. There are quality spinners in the conditions there. Apart from this, they have a great batsman like Babar Azam.”
Let us tell you that this is the first time in the history of the World Cup that 20 teams are participating. All the teams have been divided into 4 groups. India and Pakistan have been placed in the same group and the match between these two teams will be played on 9 June at the newly built Nassau County International Stadium in New York. Almost all the teams including Australia and India are present in Australia for this World Cup. Pakistan is currently busy playing a 4-match T20 series against England. However, both these teams will soon fly to America for the World Cup.
