Lucknow: The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is scheduled to start from June 2 and for this, teams from all countries have reached the United States and West Indies. Even all the teams have played their practice matches before the World Cup. In this episode, the Indian cricket team is also present in New York and all the players are practicing. Team India will start the marquee tournament on June 5, when it will face Ireland at the newly built Nassau County International Stadium in New York. India may have reached there but the team's star batsman Virat Kohli has not yet joined the team.

Let us tell you that due to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, the entire team could not leave for America together, but now at present all 18 players including reserve players are present in New York but Kohli has still not arrived. The latest update has come out regarding when Virat will join the Indian team. Actually, after the defeat of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the eliminator match in IPL 2024, the 35-year-old had requested to join the team late citing personal reasons. His request was also accepted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Now big information has come out about him.
According to a report by ESPN Cricinfo, “There has been no update from the BCCI yet on when Kohli will join Team India.”
News agency PTI has also given information about Virat joining Team India. According to the PTI report, “Kohli took a short break for personal work after RCB's exit from IPL. Now there is every possibility that he will join the team on Friday. However, it is not clear whether he will play the practice match against Bangladesh on Saturday after the long journey.”
In fact, the right-handed batsman was recently seen outside a restaurant in Bandra, Mumbai. He was seen having dinner with his wife Anushka Sharma and former fast bowler Zaheer Khan. However, now it will be interesting to see when Kohli will join the Indian team. India has to play a practice match against Bangladesh in New York on June 1 and his presence in it is currently in doubt.
