Suresh was doing commentary on Jio Cinema during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 and then Akash Chopra asked, “Are you thinking of taking back your retirement, Raina?” To this he replied, “I am Suresh Raina, not Shahid Afridi.” Actually, Afridi had made a comeback after retirement and played cricket for Pakistan. Raina made fun of him for this. However, later a Pakistani journalist wrote on X that “Shahid Afridi has been made an ambassador by the ICC. Hello Suresh Raina.”

The former Indian player immediately responded to this and wrote, “I am not an ICC ambassador but I have the 2011 World Cup. Remember the Mohali match? Hope this brings back some memories for you.” Now, talking about this matter on his YouTube channel, Afridi has said that he called Raina and asked him to delete this post.

He said, “Suresh Raina and I have shared many moments in cricket and he is a good person. Sometimes light-hearted things happen. After seeing his post on social media, I talked to him and he understood the situation like a younger brother. He agreed to delete the tweet and it is all fine. Such things keep happening and great people admit their mistakes and correct them.”
