Currently, Team India is in New York for the World Cup being hosted by the United States and West Indies. Under the leadership of Rohit, the Men in Blue would like to create history and win this trophy for the second time after 2007. Almost all the players of India have reached New York and have also started practice. In such a situation, the Indian captain has made a big statement during a conversation on Star Sports before the start of the T20 World Cup.
He said, “The biggest challenge for any captain is that it is very difficult to handle different types of players because everyone's thinking process is different. A captain has to look at all these things and respond correctly to them. After becoming a captain, I have learned only one thing that every player should be given equal importance so that they feel that they are a part of the team and are very important for the team.”
The 37-year-old further said, “Whenever a player comes to you with a problem, you should listen carefully and find a proper solution to it. I think I have to prepare not only as a captain but also as a player.”
In the T20 World Cup 2024, the Indian team will play its first match against Ireland on June 5 at the newly built Nassau International Cricket Stadium in New York. Before this, Rohit and company also have to play a practice match against Bangladesh on June 1. On June 9, India will face its arch-rival Pakistan.
