A cricket supporter who invaded the pitch during the GT vs. CSK match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in IPL 2024 has claimed that the former Chennai captain has promised him that he will take care of his surgery.
He claimed that Dhoni noted his breathing issues after he met him. In a video, Dhoni was seen chatting with the picture invader before the security took him away on May 10.
Dhoni tried to avoid a fan in a playful manner by running away before talking to him.
“When I saw Dhoni I was delighted. Mahi bhai said that he was trying to have fun with me,” he claimed during his interaction with Focussed Indian.
“I was crying and touched his feet. He asked me about my heavy breath. I told him about a problem with my nose. He agreed to take care of my surgery and promised me that nothing will happen,” the fan added.
Fans adored Dhoni in every match across India. He delighted them by hitting big sixes and fours in the death overs.
In Chennai, the stands at the MA Chidambaram Stadium were packed by CSK supporters who wanted to see MSD in action.
However, Dhoni couldn’t take his franchise to the playoffs, as CSK lost to RCB in their league match. Dhoni hit a six on the first ball of the last over but was caught on the second ball, with Yash Dayal deceiving him with a perfect slower ball.
MS Dhoni did not confirm whether IPL 2024 was his last season.
