Team India Playing XI for T20 WC: The ninth edition of the T20 World Cup will be co-hosted by the US and West Indies this time, which will begin with a match between the US and Canada on June 2. The Indian team has reached New York to prepare for this mega event. Team India, led by Rohit Sharma, will want to end the 11-year drought of not winning an ICC trophy.
BCCI has named a strong 15-member Indian squad for the T20 World Cup. However, the dilemma here is that if Yashasvi Jaiswal starts the innings with Indian captain Rohit, then 3 players may be dropped from the playing XI.
The young left-handed batsman has cemented his place in Team India's T20 team in a very short time on the basis of his brilliant performance. His record in this format has also been good. In the IPL, Jaiswal opens the innings for his franchise Rajasthan Royals. Jaiswal may not have been in his full form in the 17th season of the league, but he scored more than 400 runs with his bat.
If Jaiswal plays the role of opener with captain Rohit in the T20 World Cup, then some players will have to sit out of the playing XI. These include all-rounder Shivam Dubey, wicketkeeper Sanju Samson and Akshar Patel.
Rishabh Pant is also a part of this squad and his recent form has also been very good. In such a situation, Pant is sure to play as a wicketkeeper-batsman. Shivam Dubey and Akshar Patel are all-rounders. But the team management will give first chance to vice-captain Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja on the basis of experience. Both these players are adept at doing wonders with the ball as well as the bat.
Rohit Sharma (captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj
