Lucknow: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had invited applications for the head coach of Team India and the last date for this was fixed as 27 May. Now this period has been completed and BCCI has received more than 3000 applications for the coaching post. Although, there are many fake applications in it but the question still remains that who will take over the post of head coach of India after Rahul Dravid. Now a big information is coming out regarding this matter. Let us tell you that at present the name of former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir is at the forefront in the race for this post.

Gambhir has worked as a mentor with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for two years and both times the team reached the playoffs. Apart from this, he has played the same role with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL 2024 and also made the team champion. Given his excellent record, Gautam is being considered the frontrunner for this post.
According to a report by Cricbuzz, Gautam Gambhir is set to become the head coach of Team India. Not only this, the deal for this has been completed between BCCI and Gambhir and the board has approved his name. The lack of any announcement despite the application date being over shows that BCCI also considers the former opener suitable for this post and it will be officially announced in the coming days.
