Former India player Ambati Rayudu has been hogging the limelight for bashing Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Virat Kohli. He has been after the Faf du Plessis-led franchise since they eliminated Chennai Super Kings from IPL 2024.
He posted a clip to defame RCB after their defeat against Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator. Rayudu even trolled Virat, saying that Orange Cap can’t guarantee success in the cash-rich league. Kohli won the award after scoring 741 runs in 15 matches in the 17th season.
Rayudu was at the receiving end after the IPL final between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad. He was supporting SRH, but KKR won the title in the end.
He was quick to change sides after the match. Before the mega match, he was wearing an Orange waistcoat but changed it to a blue one after Kolkata’s third title win.
He had a fun-filled banter with Kevin Pietersen, who called him a Joker for changing the colour of his waistcoat.
Ambati tried to balance out things, saying he was supporting good cricket. However, after KP’s joker remark, the Indian cricketer was abused on social media.
Sensing the damage done to the reputation of Rayudu, Pietersen took to X to urge the trollers to stop abusing the batter.
“This tribalism with/against Indian players on social media needs to slow down! Ambati Raydu and I were messing around after the IPL final, and all of a sudden, that banter has turned into an avalanche of abuse towards Ambati. PLEASE stop it?” Pietersen tweeted.
Meanwhile, Rayudu congratulated KKR for their superb display throughout the season.
