Shreyas Iyer wrote a success story in IPL news in hindi

Shreyas has faced many challenges since the beginning of this year.

Shreyas Iyer News: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Shreyas Iyer, who left the disappointment behind and wrote a new story of success, celebrated winning the Indian Premier League title on Sunday in the style of Lionel Messi's World Cup winning style.

A few weeks before the IPL, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) terminated his central contract. Apart from this, a recurring back injury threatened to hamper his career. Shreyas has faced many challenges since the beginning of this year.

He left all these disappointments behind and ended KKR's 10-year drought of IPL title just like Messi won the World Cup for Argentina after 36 years. While Messi had to face defeat in the 2014 World Cup final, Shreyas had to face such a moment in 2020 when Delhi Capitals reached the IPL final under his captaincy.

After lifting the IPL trophy, Shreyas celebrated with his teammates in the same way as Messi did after defeating France in the FIFA World Cup final in Doha.

After KKR's victory in the final, veteran Ian Bishop said, “I am hearing a lot about Gautam Gambhir that he created a great atmosphere in the team. But I don't think this player is getting enough credit. We should give him credit.”

Openers Sunil Narine and Phil Salt scored the bulk of the runs for KKR but other players also raised their level of performance whenever they got the chance, which helped the team secure its top spot in the league stage with two matches remaining. KKR lost only three matches in the entire season.

Shreyas said, “It is very difficult to express the emotions at this time. This wait has been very long. We played like invincible throughout the season. There are many memories to cherish at this time.”

Shreyas' success was a special feeling for his childhood friend and Mumbai coach Pravin Amre, who decided to send the batsman to bat at number three from seven in his first Ranji season in 2014–15.

Trusting Shreyas proved successful for Amre. The batsman scored 153 runs in a match against Bengal at Eden Gardens in December 2014. This was his first century in first class.

Amre said, “I challenged him throughout his career (in Mumbai). I knew how strong-willed he is and as a coach it was my job to challenge him. He always likes to take challenges in a positive way. He is a good player and one of those who is ready to contribute to the team. He scored 530 runs in the last ODI World Cup.

After taking KKR to the finals, Shreyas became the first captain in the league to take two franchises to the finals.

He remained away from the game last season due to surgery to recover from a back injury, but his return this season was miraculous for the team.

This year did not start well for Shreyas. After scoring 140 runs in the first two matches of the home Test series against England, he was dropped from the team for the last three matches.

It was revealed that his back pain is troubling him again. However, the BCCI medical team declared him fit. Shreyas got embroiled in controversy when he was accused of joining KKR's pre-season camp instead of playing Ranji for Mumbai.

He, however, returned to play the semi-final and final for Mumbai. In the final, he laid the foundation for the team's victory by scoring 95 runs in the second innings against Vidarbha. His contribution made Mumbai Ranji champions for the 42nd time.

The BCCI dropped him from the Grade B contract during this period and board secretary Jay Shah issued a stern warning asking the players not to give priority to IPL over domestic cricket.

Shreyas had a poor start to the IPL as he was dismissed for a two-ball duck in the team's opening match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

He played some important innings after this but all his efforts were overshadowed by the explosive batting of Narayan and Salt. He was the fourth most successful batsman of the team with 351 runs.

Despite his average contribution with the bat, Shreyas built his image of 'Captain Cool' throughout the season and gave priority to the team's success over his own performance. While chasing the target of 160 runs in the qualifier match against the Sunrisers, he played an aggressive unbeaten innings of 58 runs and led the team to an easy victory.

Amre said, “The way he handled the team as a player is commendable. He is constantly improving as a captain and experts of the game are also praising his leadership qualities.” He said, “I personally believe that success does not come by chance. He has worked hard for this, handled the team. Yes, he had a good team but you should know how to get the best performance from all the players.”
