Kolkata Knight Riders won the title for the third time by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets in the final of IPL 2024. Now former Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram has taken a dig at India's T20 World Cup 2024 team after the end of IPL 2024. Let us tell you that not a single Indian player was included in the final between Kolkata and Hyderabad who are going to the T20 World Cup which will be played in USA and West Indies from June 1. Only Rinku Singh was a part of KKR but he is going to the World Cup as a reserve player.
Akram said, “Now at least none of them will have to say that they are tired. They were thinking ahead, what does it mean to reach the final, India is more important, we will play with the country. But this could prove to be a boon for India. We discussed in the last show that I was worried that they would be tired, and they will be tired, there is no doubt about that. Even America is not their way. If I remember, I think Pakistan's first match is Dallas.”
The former Pakistani cricketer further added, “We discussed in the last show that I was worried that they would be tired, and they will be tired, no doubt about it. Even America is not their way. If I remember, I think Pakistan's first match is Dallas. Now they will go there and play one or two practice matches. I think, it will be fine. It's T20, the boys will be fine, the fitness level is very high these days.”
The first group of Indian players who did not play in the IPL playoffs left for the USA on Saturday evening, which included their captain Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Shivam Dube, Mohammed Siraj, Axar Patel and Shubman Gill. India will play their first match in the T20 World Cup against Ireland on June 5 and the second match against Pakistan on June 9. Both matches will be played in New York.
