Sunil Narine (Kolkata Knight Riders) : The Most Valuable Player award in IPL 2024 itself tells what contribution he made to KKR's victory – 488 runs and 17 wickets in the tournament. The most important thing is that in both the roles, he had such an impact on the team's performance that the result of the match kept on being decided by his performance alone.
Virat Kohli (Royal Challengers Bangalore) : Since he played as an opener in IPL, he will be made an opener and the talk in the season is not just about the total of 741 runs – he has also ended the debate on strike race. 38 sixes and a strike rate of 154+ – what more do you need?
Sanju Samson (Rajasthan Royals): RR team played in the playoffs and this is no small thing and Sanju played the roles of captain, batsman and wicketkeeper very well. He scored 531 runs in 15 innings at a blistering strike rate of 153+. He was the biggest support of the team in every match.
Riyan Parag (Rajasthan Royals): This selection may not meet all the criteria but look at the all-round contribution and that too of the batsman who was trolled the most till last season. 573 runs in 14 innings at 52+ average and 149+ strike rate. The impact player did not give a chance to do anything with the ball.
Heinrich Klaasen (Sun Risers Hyderabad) : This South African wicketkeeper-batsman was the hero of the team lineup and maintained his form throughout the season – he was the finisher and pulled the team out of difficult situations. He scored 479 runs in 15 innings at a strike rate of 171+ in the season. There was no shortage in wicketkeeping either.
Andre Russell (Kolkata Knight Riders): Russell's dangerous hitting and wicket-taking timing made him a special player in the season – someone the team could rely on and a game-changer in every sense. 222 runs in 9 innings at a strike rate of 185 and 19 wickets – what more could one ask for?
Harshal Patel (Punjab Kings) : Harshal, who took valuable wickets and took charge even in difficult times, took 24 wickets in 14 matches at an impressive average of 19.87 – he outwitted the batsmen and could have done even better had he got some more support from the team.
Jasprit Bumrah (Mumbai Indians): There was no one to match him in fast bowling – he did not get proper support in the Mumbai team – even then there was no one to match him. 20 wickets in 13 matches at an extraordinary average of 16.80 and no one had an answer to his deadly yorker.
Pat Cummins Captain (Sunrisers Hyderabad): Even though he couldn't win the IPL title for his team, his performance and captaincy as a skipper left a mark on Sunrisers' journey to the final – 136 runs in 10 innings and 18 wickets, which is a record for any pacer captain in a season.
Varun Chakravarthy (Kolkata Knight Riders): His mystery spin made KKR's attack very powerful – he took 21 wickets in 15 matches which is a proof of his talent to deceive batsmen. He not only took wickets in the middle overs – he also stopped runs.
T Natarajan (Sunrisers Hyderabad) : This was the first full season after struggling with injuries for many years and he proved to be the strength of Sunrisers' attack. In fact, he surprised everyone. He took 19 wickets in 14 matches and is such a strong pacer who also has a yorker. That's why he is effective in the death overs as well.
Along with these 11, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma (both Sunrisers Hyderabad) will be with the team as impact players.
