During this, the names of many veteran players came to the fore, some of them had already refused to become the head coach of the Indian team. Now another veteran player has ruled himself out of becoming the head coach of the Indian team. It was believed that that veteran player could be made the head coach of Team India.

BCCI has issued an advertisement for the post of head coach of the Indian team during IPL 2024 and has given the opportunity to apply till 27 May. During this time many veteran players refused to become the head coach of Team India. Now after the Qualifier 2 match of IPL 2024, Rajasthan Royals coach and former Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara has also declared himself out of the race to become the head coach of Team India. He is also not keen to become the head coach of Team India.

This player is not interested in becoming the coach of Team India

In IPL 2024, the Rajasthan Royals team was eliminated after losing the qualifier match by 36 runs. During this, when Rajasthan head coach Kumar Sangakkara came to talk to the media after the match, he replied that,,

“I have not been contacted for this and I do not have enough experience to take up a full-time coaching job with Team India. I am happy with my wonderful time at Rajasthan Royals.”

These players also did not show enthusiasm in becoming the head coach of Team India

Before Rajasthan Royals cricketer Kumar Sangakkara, Australian veterans Ricky Ponting and Justin Langer have also not shown interest in becoming the head coach of the Indian team. Both the former Australian cricketers had also said that they had received an offer from the BCCI but they refused. Meanwhile, BCCI secretary Jay Shah has denied that any Australian player has been offered the post of head coach.
