Lucknow: In the final match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 8 wickets to win the title for the third time. Kolkata won the one-sided final match and this team performed consistently well throughout the tournament this season and made its place in the final. The entire credit for the team's performance this year is being given to mentor Gautam Gambhir because after his arrival the team changed its way of playing and made its place in the final.

Along with Gautam Gambhir, the credit for KKR's success is also being given to captain Shreyas Iyer. However, the team's star spinner Varun Chakraborty has given the credit to batting coach Abhishek Nair instead of these two. Let us tell you that Nair is doing a good job with the team and the batsmen have also performed well this season. Kolkata's star player Venkatesh Iyer also seemed to agree with Varun's statement. In fact, after winning the trophy for the third time, he has given a big statement while talking to the broadcaster.
He said, “I would like to congratulate Abhishek Nair as he is the main reason behind us winning the trophy for the third time. Abhishek has done a good job throughout the season but he does not get enough credit. However, the most important thing for us is that we talk about such unsung heroes.”
Agreeing with Varun Chakraborty, Venkatesh Iyer said, “Abhishek Nair has helped us a lot. His advice was very useful during the match.”
Let us tell you that in the final match played at Chennai's Chepauk Stadium, Hyderabad won the toss and decided to bat first but this decision backfired on them. SRH's batting proved to be a flop in this summit clash and their team was all out for 113 runs. Hyderabad's batsmen performed disappointingly and this was the reason why they could not win the title. Chasing 114 runs, KKR achieved it in 10.3 overs at the loss of 2 wickets.
