Alyssa Healy’s alma mater Barker College honoured the Australia great after naming its school grounds after the former wicketkeeper-batter.

The former Australia women’s cricket team captain, who retired from all formats earlier this year, was part of the 2008 batch of the school located in Sydney.

“From her early days on the Rosewood grounds to becoming one of the world’s most accomplished cricketers, Alyssa’s journey is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through dedication, resilience and a love of sport,” the school said on its Instagram page last month.

“The Alyssa Healy Fields will stand as a lasting tribute to her extraordinary achievements and an inspiration to the next generation of athletes who will train, play and dream here,” the post added.

Lisa Sthalekar, another former Australia international and alumnus of Barker College, was also present during the ceremony.
