NAM vs ZIM 5th Match Playing 11: Gerhard Erasmus-led Namibia will square off against Sikandar Raza-led Zimbabwe in the 5th match of the Namibia T20I Tri-Series 2026, played at the Namibia Cricket Ground, Windhoek.

Both sides will be aiming for a win in the upcoming match to take a lead in the points table. Both Namibia and Zimbabwe have met on 16 occasions where both sides having 8 wins each.

The last time they met was in the T20I Tri-series, where Zimbabwe won by 5 Runs. Zimbabwe won the toss and opted to bowl.

Speaking at the toss, Sikandar Raza said, “Looking at this wicket as well, I think this wicket will get better.

And even when we played the last time as well, there was a bit of variable bounce on this wicket compared to the other one. So we want to use that variability of the wicket and try and put them under pressure.”

“Yeah, 100 per cent. We know what’s at stake here, but I always say process over result matters a lot to me because we try new combinations, we try and improve our pool of players, but certainly anybody that is here and everyone that is here is good enough to produce a result, and that is why you play for the national team,” added Raza.

“You want to win every time. But certainly if we get our processes right, then it gives us a great chance to win the game. We’ve got one change. Blessing (Muzarabani) comes back in, and (Newman) Nyamhuri has picked up a niggle, so he misses out and Blessing comes back in,” concluded Sikandar Raza.

Meanwhile, Gerhard Erasmus said, “We actually would have batted first today. Sort of felt like through many periods of the series that it was kind of a bat-first sort of wicket, with teams really finding scoreboard pressure quite difficult, and yeah, teams batting first putting on a good total.”

“That’s been the goal since game one (to reach the final). We now have put ourselves in a good position to have a shot at that. So yeah, we’ll have to take it step by step though. The first thing is that powerplay for us in the batting, setting up for us for our bowlers to sort of have a crack at the back end of innings,” concluded Erasmus.
