A brilliant 78 off 45 deliveries from Johnson Charles has set up the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots to end their losing streak in the CPL 2026, played at St Kitts.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots secured a 6-wicket victory against Barbados Trident after chasing 217 run target. With this win, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots jumped to 5th position in the CPL 2026 points table.

Being invited to bat first, Brandon King and Zachary Carter opened the innings while Naseem Shah opened the bowling attack.

Despite Jason Holder dismissing King for 2 runs, Zachary Carter and Quinto de Kock forged a partnership as the side scored 53 runs in the powerplay.

The duo forged a 116-run partnership for the 2nd wicket, where Carter scored 57 runs off 36 deliveries.

Rutherford, who came to bat at No.4, scored 26 runs off 16 deliveries before being dismissed by Naseem Shah. On the other hand, Quinton de Kock smashed a century and scored 106 runs off 57 deliveries.

However, he got dismissed by Naseem Shah and went back to the pavilion. Chris Green added 18* runs as Barbados Trident scored 217 runs in their 20-over innings.

Chasing a 218-run target, Johnson Charles and Kyle Mayers opened the innings for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, where they scored 58 runs in the powerplay. They forged a 112-run partnership for the first wicket.

Kyle Mayers got dismissed for 29 runs by run-out. On the other hand, Charles added 78 runs off 45 deliveries, which included 6 fours and 7 sixes.

Daniel Sams bagged the wicket of Holder for 18 runs and dismissed Dasun Shanaka for 36 runs in the same over.

Andre Fletcher (22*) and Wanindu Hasaranga (18*) in the death overs have secured a massive win for the Patriots.

Johnson Charles was named the player of the match. Speaking at the post-match presentation, Charles said, “I came in at the right time. But I’m a bit late to the party. We’ve been having a pretty decent tournament in terms of the dressing room. Everything is good, but we’ve just not been able to put out the performances and come together as a team.”
