Delhi: In the 23rd match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026, St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots defeated Barbados Tridents by six wickets. Quinton de Kock scored a brilliant century for Patriots in the match played at Warner Park. But his century was overshadowed by the half-century of Barbados' Johnson Charles. Barbados achieved the target of 218 five balls early.

De Kock's brilliant century

Barbados was batting first in the match.

He had a bad start. Brandon King was out after scoring two runs in the very second over. But after this, Zackary Carter and De Kock thrashed the Patriots bowlers. Both added 116 runs for the second wicket. During this period, Carter was out after scoring 57 runs in 36 balls with the help of seven sixes and one four.

At the other end, De Kock kept beating the bowlers. He completed the 10th century of his T20 career. For the third wicket, De Kock made a partnership of 70 runs with Sherfane Rutherford in just 36 balls.

Rutherford hit three fours and a six. De Kock played an innings of 106 runs in 57 balls. He hit 11 fours and six sixes in his innings, due to which Patriots scored 217 runs at the loss of four wickets in 20 overs.

Barbados won with a strong half-century from Johnson Charles

While chasing the big target of 218 runs, Barbados started with a bang. Opener Johnson Charles started beating the bowlers from the very first over. Charles made a partnership of 112 runs with Kyle Myers for the first wicket. Myers was out after scoring 29 runs in 27 balls. During this, Charles scored a quick half-century.

He was out after scoring 78 runs in 45 balls. He hit six fours and seven sixes in his innings.

Apart from this, Dasun Shanaka played a short but fast inning of 36 runs in 22 balls. Wicketkeeper Andre Fletcher scored 22 not out in 8 balls and Wanindu Hasaranga scored 18 not out in 4 balls to ensure the victory of Barbados. Charles was chosen Player of the Match for his brilliant innings. This is only the second victory of Barbados in five matches. He is still in last place on the points table.
