Delhi: The final match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will be played between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Sunday. This match will be held at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The teams of Kolkata and Hyderabad have performed brilliantly this season. Now there will be a tough competition between the two teams in the title match today.

According to reports, there is less chance of rain during the IPL final, but Chennai received heavy rains a day before the match and it is believed that this may affect the title match. If this happens, extra time is allowed. If the deciding match is not completed due to rain and is canceled, then it can be played on the reserve day. This was also seen in the final of IPL 2023, when rain became the villain in the final match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) and due to this the match was played on the reserve day.
If the final match is not completed even on the reserve day, then KKR will benefit. Kolkata topped the IPL 2024 points table. According to the rules, the team which remains at the top of the points table without playing a match (if the match is cancelled due to rain after reaching the final) will be declared the winner.
Chepauk Stadium Pitch Report
The pitch of MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai is usually beneficial for the bowlers. After the victory against Rajasthan in Qualifier-2, Sunrisers Hyderabad will have a good understanding of the Chepauk pitch. The toss of the coin will play a very important role on the Chepauk pitch. The team batting first on this pitch has an advantage. Many matches have been played on this ground since the end of the 17th season of IPL. This will make it a bit difficult to score runs on a slow pitch. The spinners also performed well in the last match.
If we talk about the head-to-head record between Sunrisers Hyderabad and KKR, a total of 27 matches were played between the two teams in the IPL, in which KKR won 18 matches, while Hyderabad won 9 matches.
