But all the Indian players selected for the World Cup could not leave for America last night. In the first batch, Team India captain Rohit Sharma along with Jaspreet Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammad Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, Khalil Ahmed, Akshar Patel, Shivam Dubey and coach Rahul Dravid flew.
Virat Kohli was also scheduled to leave for America with the first batch, but he did not go with the team because Kohli has personal work in Dubai, so his joining the Indian team will be delayed. Virat had already informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) about this. It seems that BCCI has agreed to this.
However, it is being said that Kohli will not play in the practice match against Bangladesh on June 1. India's only practice match before the T20 World Cup is against the Bangla Tigers. This match will be important for the Indian players to understand the conditions of America, but Kohli will miss this match.
BCCI sources said, “BCCI has accepted Kohli's request.” Meanwhile, Team India will play its first match against Ireland on June 5. The India-Pak match will be held on June 9. Group A includes arch-rivals India and Pakistan along with Ireland, Canada and USA.
