IND vs SL 2nd Test Kuldeep Yadav: India have made one change to their playing XI for the second Test against Sri Lanka, with Kuldeep Yadav missing out from the contest at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo on Sunday. The left-arm wrist-spinner has been replaced by off-spin bowling all-rounder Saransh Jain, who is making his Test debut for India. The change comes after India took a 1-0 lead in the two-match series with a 165-run victory in the opening Test at Galle.

Kuldeep Yadav Ruled Out Due To Infection

Kuldeep's absence is not a tactical decision by India. Captain Shubman Gill confirmed at the toss that the spinner was unavailable for selection because he is suffering from an infection.

The news means Kuldeep will have to watch the second Test from the sidelines, despite being part of India's winning XI in Galle.

His absence also comes after a relatively subdued performance in the series opener.

Kuldeep bowled 25 overs across Sri Lanka's two innings but managed to claim only one wicket as India dominated the Test.

However, his lack of impact in Galle is not the reason for his omission in Colombo. Gill's confirmation makes it clear that the spinner's health issue has forced the change.

Saransh Jain Gets Chance On Test Debut

With Kuldeep unavailable, India have brought Saransh into the XI for his first Test appearance.

The off-spin bowling all-rounder now has an opportunity to make an immediate impact in a match where India can seal the series.

Gill won the toss for the second successive Test and elected to bat first, giving India the chance to put pressure on Sri Lanka with the bat before their bowlers take over.

Manav Suthar remains in the XI alongside Saransh, while Ravindra Jadeja provides another spin option for the visitors.
