Delhi: There is still about a year left for the ODI World Cup to be held in 2027, but former Indian batsman Robin Uthappa has already selected the 15-member team of his choice. Uthappa has described his team as 'bomb squad'. He believes that if the same players play together for the next one year, then India can prepare a strong team for the World Cup.

The World Cup will be played in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

India last won the ODI World Cup title in 2011. At the same time, in 2023, Team India reached the final, but had to face defeat against Australia. Uthappa believes that giving continuous opportunities to the players before the World Cup will be beneficial for the team.

Uthappa has selected Rohit Sharma, Shubhman Gill and Vaibhav Suryavanshi for opening in his team. Rohit has great experience in ODI cricket, while Shubman Gill is one of the leading batsmen of the Indian team. The biggest surprise is the selection of 15 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

Vaibhav has not yet made his ODI debut for India, but Uthappa has given him a place in the World Cup team.

Uthappa has selected Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul and Sanju Samson for the middle order. Rahul can also handle the responsibility of wicketkeeping, while Samson has been kept as the backup wicketkeeper. Uthappa believes that Samson can play different roles for the team and can also finish the match if needed.

Uthappa's team includes Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja as all-rounders.
