Indian team's star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has made a surprising revelation about the early days of his career. Jadeja says that in the initial phase, the team management did not have full confidence in his batting, due to which he did not get a chance to bat at the preferred number in the Indian team like in domestic cricket.
While talking to the broadcaster during the Test match played against Sri Lanka in Galle, Jadeja openly expressed his feelings.
He told that when he started his career, he used to bat at number four in Ranji Trophy and his average at that position was more than 60. He had full confidence in his abilities due to his consistent performance at the domestic level, but when he joined the Indian team, the equations were completely different.Recalling that period, Jadeja said that he was often sent to bat in the lower order i.e. at number 8 or 9. Waiting for a long time in the dressing room wearing pads and then suddenly coming out to bat was mentally very challenging for him.
He admitted that at times such situations would cause his confidence to waver and he felt that perhaps the team did not have enough confidence in his batting abilities. On many occasions he was called R. Even after Ashwin, he was sent to bat.
Even though he had to face disappointment regarding the batting order in the initial days, with time Ravindra Jadeja has cemented his place among the best all-rounders in the world.
The statistics of his Test career bear witness to the fact that he has given historic performances with both bat and ball in many difficult matches for India. Jadeja has so far scored 4,108 runs in 90 Test matches at an average of 38.04 and has also taken 348 wickets in his name. The post 'Team India did not trust me'… Ravindra Jadeja revealed the big secret of his career… Told the untold story of his initial days… appeared first on Buzz | ….
