An all-round performance from Mathew Forde secured a thrilling win for Saint Lucia Kings in the rain-affected game against Falcons at St Lucia.

His decent spell and batting contribution have set up Saint Lucia Kings’ 3-wicket victory and secured a top spot in the CPL 2026 points table.

Inviting Barbuda Falcons to bat first, St Lucia Kings were dominant from the start of the innings.

Matthew Forde was destructive from the start, dismissing Evin Lewis and Tim Robinson in the 2nd over of the innings.

Evin Lewis (1) was dismissed by a catch to Jewel Andrew, while Robinson was dismissed for a golden duck.

The duo did put in some contributions before Dhillon got dismissed for 16 runs by Joshua Bishop.

Matthew Forde went on to bag his fourth wicket, dismissing Amir Jangoo for 23 runs. However, the rest of the line-up got dismissed cheaply before Alzarri Joseph added 16* runs as the side scored 98 runs in 19 overs before rain stopped play.

Apart from Matthew Forde’s four-wicket haul, Joshua Bishop and Roston Chase bagged two wickets each.

With a DLS target of 52 runs, Andries Gous and Roston Chase opened the innings, while Jayden Seales opened the bowling attack.

After the lineup collapsed, Matthew Forde added 11 runs, and Joshua Bishop added 12* runs, setting up Saint Lucia Kings’ 3-wicket victory in the class.

Matthew Forde was named the player of the match. Speaking at the post-match presentation, Forde said, “You know, for me, it was more about the win. Getting over the line is always good, especially against this opposition. I have some good friends here as well. But it’s always good to pick up two points at home and get our campaign underway.”
