Delhi:In the 9th match of The Hundred Women 2026, cricket fans got to see excitement till the last ball. In this match played at Rose Bowl, Southampton, Southern Brave Women registered a spectacular victory by defeating MI London Women by just 1 run.

Batting first, Southern Brave scored 126/7 in 100 balls. In reply, MI London team could reach only 125/3 in 100 balls. Jemimah Rodrigues became the player of the match.

Middle order took over the innings of Southern Brave

Southern Brave, who came to bat after the toss, got off to a good start. Maya Bushier scored 31 runs in 22 balls, while Laura Wolvaardt played an important inning of 35 runs in 30 balls.

After this, Jemimah Rodrigues batted fast and added 32 runs in 22 balls. Jamie hit 3 fours in his innings.

However, the team lost wickets continuously in the last 24 balls and the opportunity to make a big score was lost. Southern Brave scored 126/7 in 100 balls.

For MI London, captain Haley Mathews performed brilliantly with the ball, taking 4 wickets for just 22 runs in 20 balls. Nicola Carey, Tara Norris and Amelia Kerr got 1 wicket each.

Danny Wyatt’s half-century innings went in vain

MI London got off to a good start while chasing the target of 127 runs. Haley Mathews was out after scoring 32 runs in 28 balls. He along with Danny Wyatt-Hodge added 42 runs for the first wicket.

After this, Holly Armitage scored 27 runs in 21 balls. After both were out, Danny Wyatt kept one end in charge. He scored unbeaten 52 runs in 42 balls and tried till the end to help the team win.

In the match which lasted till the last ball, MI London needed 2 runs to win, but the team could score only 1 run and stopped at the score of 125/3. In this way Southern Brave won a thrilling victory by 1 run.

Bowlers showed strength under pressure

Everyone played their responsibility in bowling for Southern Brave. Issy Wong, Sarah Glenn and captain Sophie Molineux took 1 wicket each.

Although no bowler took many wickets, everyone kept the pressure on MI London by stopping the runs at the right time, which the team got the benefit in the last over.
