Almost all the countries have announced their team for this World Cup and India's team has also been announced. However, now a big news is coming out about the World Cup. Actually, Team India's experienced wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Karthik is going to be seen in a new role in this World Cup. Karthik will not be seen with Team India but he will be seen in a different role.

Actually, the broadcaster has announced the commentators for the World Cup and some big names are included in it. Karthik's name is also in this list and he will be seen doing commentary in the marquee tournament. Let us tell you that the names of legendary players like Ravi Shastri, Ricky Ponting, Steve Smith and Nasir Hussain are included in this list and they will be seen playing the role of commentator. This is not the first time that Karthik will be seen in this role. Earlier, he was seen in the same role in the Ashes series and India-England Test series and now he will be seen doing commentary at a big level like the World Cup.

Karthik participated in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 as a wicketkeeper batsman for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). He performed well in this tournament and after this he has announced his retirement. Let us tell you that before the announcement of the World Cup team, the name of the right-handed batsman was also included in the race for wicketkeeper. Although, there was little hope of him being included in the team, but still he was leading in this race.

Dinesh has announced his retirement from IPL. He made his last appearance in the league in the eliminator match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and will no longer be seen playing in it. The 38-year-old has played a total of 257 matches during his entire career in the IPL, in which he has scored 4842 runs at an average of 26.32 and a strike rate of 135.36. During this, 22 half-centuries have come from his bat, while his best score has been 97 runs.
