Who is Yash Thakur? Vidarbha speedster debuts for India in 2nd T20I vs Zimbabwe

India are playing against Zimbabwe in the second T20I of the three-match series on July 25. The Indian team management included debutant Yash Thakur in the Playing XI, with the 27-year-old fast bowler from Vidarbha replacing Ashok Sharma. Ashok made his T20I debut for the Men in Blue in the first match but went wicketless from his quota of four overs.

Before his first international match, Yash had competed in 74 T20 matches, taking 110 wickets. He has also played 22 IPL matches for Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings, picking up 27 wickets.

Yash played for India A in the tri-series in Sri Lanka, where he dismissed five batters in three games. He also played two unofficial Tests against the hosts Sri Lanka and took five wickets.

In 32 first-class and 57 List A games, Yash Thakur has claimed 93 and 90 wickets, respectively.

Zimbabwe win the toss and invite India to bat first

Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza won the toss and put India into bat in the second T20I at the Harare Sports Club.

The host nation went in with an unchanged XI in the second game, while Yash Thakur took Ashok Sharma’s place in India’s Playing XI.

India won the series opener by 7 wickets, and a victory in the second game would give the Shreyas-led team in the three-match series.
