However, he failed to figure in any of the three matches as the management decided to go with a deep batting lineup. Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, and Shivam Dube were named as the three all-rounders in the 15-man squad.

Even in the series decider at Lord’s, where India turned up with five frontline bowlers, Kuldeep Yadav found himself on the sidelines. The management decided to go all guns blazing with a pace attack, with only Axar Patel as the spinner.

The decision generated mixed reactions, primarily because Kuldeep thrives in conditions that offer assistance to the bowlers.

Looking ahead to the Royal One-Day Cup

Kuldeep Yadav’s time in England is far from over, as he is set to appear for Yorkshire in the Royal One-Day Cup. The left-armer is expected to play five matches for the county till August 2 before joining the Indian team for the two-Test series against Sri Lanka, beginning on August 15. After the island nation trip, he will return to Yorkshire for the second phase of his stint with the county – which will see him play the final three County Championship matches.
