Former India opener Shikhar Dhawan has urged patience and faith amid the ongoing protests by CJP at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. The veteran cricketer commented as demonstrations against the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak and irregularities continue to garner attention.

Dhawan took to X and said that it was essential to understand the dreams of youth, but it is also important to trust the institutions and the government.

“Our youth are the future of our nation. It is essential to understand their dreams, but at the same time, it is equally important to maintain patience in difficult times and keep faith in the country’s institutions and government,” said Dhawan.

Dhawan highlighted the importance of patience.

“I believe that the solution to every challenge emerges with patience. India has always moved forward and will continue to progress,” said Dhawan.

Earlier, legendary all-rounder and two-time World Cup winner Yuvraj Singh also spoke about the protests and urged the ruling government and CJP to come to the table to resolve issues.

“To every child, student, woman and man: you deserve the opportunity to learn in peace, grow with safety, and chase your dreams”, Yuvraj wrote on Instagram.

“Your well-being is the foundation of a brighter India.

“Let’s come together to build communities of care, opportunity and hope.

“Through dialogue we can find an amicable solution for the sake of India’s future”, he added.

Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra requested a stronger education system. The protests started after a paper leak and have since grown into a big campaign seeking reforms to the current system.  Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is leading the demonstrations.

The key demands include the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, preventing paper leaks, and accountability and transparency in conducting the competitive exams.

The campaign at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi resulted in clashes between the police personnel and the protesters after the calls for the Chalo Sansad march on July 20. The protests have also started in Bihar, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Goa and Rajasthan where students are speaking against the issues.

Social activist Sonam Wangchuk launched an indefinite hunger strike in support of the students. Despite requests from CJP to end his fast, Wangchuk is adamant about continuing it till the demands of the protesters are met.
