Former batter Aakash Chopra was deeply disappointed after India lost the three-match One Day International (ODI) series to England. The Men in Blue fell to a 2-1 defeat after being beaten in the third game at Lord's Cricket Ground on Sunday, July 19.

India have had a disastrous tour of the British Isles, first losing the T20I series against Ireland and then finishing second in both white-ball series against England. This included a 4-0 defeat in the 20-over contest, where they were completely outplayed by the hosts and were dethroned from their number one status in the ICC Rankings. 

Chopra was left worried by the lack of series India have won against top international sides in recent times. Apart from winning a solitary Test and an ODI series against Afghanistan, the Men in Blue have drastically struggled in overseas conditions.

"We have lost another series. It is not a good story. It is actually a sad story because we lost the T20Is in Ireland, then we lost to England, and now we have lost the ODI series. We are not winning anything. We won a Test against Afghanistan and an ODI series against them. What else have we won apart from that?" Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

Chopra also does not want to cloud India's recent run of poor results by their triumph at the 2026 T20 World Cup, which was again played on home soil. Winning and losing are habits, and the former player-turned-expert does not want his side to develop the latter. 

"We won the World Cup, but we lost the ODI series to New Zealand before that. We lost the Test series to South Africa before that. We are losing more and winning less. We got happy because we won the World Cup in between, but we are losing a lot apart from that.

We shouldn't acquire the habit of losing," he added.
