During the third ODI match between India and England at Lord’s, both the teams took the field wearing black armbands. Actually, former great West Indies player Garfield Sobers passed away late on Thursday night. His demise came as a shock to the cricket world and that is why both the teams have worn black bands.

Let us tell you that the match played at Lord’s is the deciding match of the series. At present the series is tied at 1-1 and the team which wins this match will also win the series.

The first match was won by India, while the second match was won by England. Sobers died before the third match and players of both the teams wore black armbands to pay tribute to him.

Garfield Sobers has had a great career

If we talk about his brilliant international career, he represented West Indies in 93 test matches. During this period, he scored 8032 runs at an unmatched average of 57.78, which included 26 centuries and 30 fifties. His bowling ability was also recognized by the whole world, he took 235 wickets in Test cricket due to his accurate and different types of bowling.

Apart from this, he also took 109 catches with his leopard-like speed on the field.
