India's Sachin Sarjerao Gilari won the gold medal in the men's shot put F46 category with a throw of 16.30 meters. With this, he has also broken his own Asian record. Sachin Sarjerao Gilari had thrown a distance of 16.21 meters in the World Para Athletics Championship held in Paris last year.

Sachin Sarjerao Gilari says that I am happy to win the gold medal. I have already qualified for the Paris Paralympics. I am confident that I will win gold there too. India's Dharambir won the bronze medal in men's club throw F51 with 33.61 meters.

Sumit Andil won the gold medal in javelin throw yesterday. In men's high jump, Mariyappan from Salem district of Tamil Nadu won the gold medal with a championship record of 1.88 meters. Ektabian also won the gold medal in women's club throw.

India has so far won 12 medals including 5 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze in the World Para Athletics Championships.

This is the first time that India has won the most medals in the World Para Athletics Championships. Last year the council won 10 medals including 3 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze.

Chief coach Satyanarayan said that there are still three days left and India has a chance to win some more medals. He said that we are hoping for 2 more gold medals. It is expected that this time the number of medals will reach 17.
