Rohit Sharma could be playing his final match in India colours on Sunday (July 19) at Lord’s as the three-match ODI series against England heads to the decider.
On Thursday, England defeated India by four wickets to level the series in Cardiff.

The 39-year-old Rohit endured another failure with a scratchy 26 off 47 balls. In the first ODI, he was dismissed for just 11 runs.
With pressure piling on him and youngsters waiting, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have decided to “move on” from the former India captain, reports said.
“The selectors have informed Rohit that he does not figure in their scheme of things after the England tour and they are moving on from him after this series. He wanted to continue, especially after working on his fitness. The selectors have left the ball in Sharma’s court,” a source was quoted as saying in Indian Express.
Rohit has already retired from Tests and T20Is and Sunday’s game could be his farewell match.
One of the greats of the 50-over game, Rohit has so far played 267 ODIs and has scored over 11,000 runs with 33 hundreds and 62 fifties at an average of 48.58. Rohit is the only player to hit three double centuries (264, 209 and 208 not out) in ODIs.
India’s batting coach Sitanshu Kotak, however, said there was no pressure on Rohit and he could play a big innings at Lord’s.
“See, I don’t think a big player like Rohit Sharma can have any sort of pressure. He’s too good a player to feel that. Yes, he didn’t get runs in the opening two matches, but I don’t think that makes any difference.
But today, it also looked like he’d probably get a good inning out. But that’s okay,” Kotak told reporters in the post-match press conference in Cardiff.“See, honestly, I have played a lot of cricket, and I have seen a lot of cricket. On a day, there are a lot of batters I have seen, they don’t get that momentum that they are looking for, and that can happen. You might see a completely different innings from Rohit Sharma at Lord’s,” he added.
