At the Rose Bowl ground in Southampton, Butler played a stormy innings of 131 runs in 64 balls, which included 12 fours and 8 skyscraper sixes. On the basis of his innings, England scored a huge score of 257 runs for 3 wickets in 20 overs.
During this brilliant inning of 131 runs, Jos Buttler left Virat Kohli behind in terms of scoring the most runs in T20 International cricket. Butler now has 4212 runs in 160 matches, while Virat Kohli had scored 4188 runs in 125 T20 International matches between 2010 and 2024.
Now Butler has reached third place in the list of batsmen who have scored the most runs in T20 International. In this list, Babar Azam is first and Rohit Sharma is second.
