Iyer scored unbeaten 80 runs in 49 balls in the match. He hit four fours and five sixes in his innings. Earlier, he had played an innings of 68 runs in 47 balls in the first match. Whereas, in the second match, Iyer scored 37 runs in 22 balls. Whereas in the third match, he returned to the pavilion after scoring only five runs.

With this, Iyer made the record of scoring the most runs as a captain in a T20 series on English soil.

He broke the 9 year old record of De Villiers. De Villiers had scored 146 runs in 3 matches against England in 2017 with the help of a half-century. At the same time, Iyer has scored 190 runs in four matches so far.
