In the third T20I between India and England at Trent Bridge, India captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to field first for the first time in the series. Trailing 0-1 in the five-match series, India made a key change by bringing in Prince Yadav in place of Ravi Bishnoi for this do-or-die clash.

Prince Yadav, who made his T20I debut against Ireland with an impressive three-wicket haul, had been kept out of the England series until now. But the right-arm seamer justified his selection immediately. Bowling his first ball on English soil in the 6th over, with England openers Jos Buttler and Phil Salt well set at 43 runs, Yadav delivered an inch-perfect yorker that reversed late and left Buttler clueless.
The former England captain was clean bowled, and Yadav celebrated with his signature style, thanking the Almighty.

The delivery instantly drew comparisons to Jasprit Bumrah, who is known for his toe-crushing yorkers. Interestingly, Bumrah is currently preparing for the upcoming ODI series against England, which begins on July 14.

Prince Yadav's rise came after a brilliant IPL 2026 season, where he picked up 16 wickets in 14 innings.
He also impressed in the Afghanistan ODIs with three wickets in two games. In the ongoing match, Yadav had already taken two wickets in his first two overs.

At the time of writing, England finished at 201/7 in their 20 overs, their third-highest total against India in T20Is, behind 246/7 at Mumbai (2026) and 215/7 at Nottingham (2022). Apart from Yadav, Harshit Rana also picked up two wickets but conceded runs at an economy of 10. Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakaravarthy, the latter returning from an IPL injury, went wicketless.
