The match against England was full of challenges for 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the rising star of Indian cricket. After failing in two consecutive matches in the ongoing T20 series against England, cricket experts have started focusing on the technical shortcomings of his batting. Former wicketkeeper batsman Parthiv Patel has clarified that the bowlers have prepared an effective ‘plan’ against Suryavanshi.

Short ball became the biggest obstacle

Parthiv Patel believes that the use of short ball against Vaibhav Suryavanshi has become his ‘Brahmastra’. He said, “The bowlers had come to know from the IPL itself that the short ball is most effective against Vaibhav. On the fast pitches of England, where bouncers have more impact, Vaibhav’s struggle has increased.” According to Patel, facing short balls coming at a speed of 145 kmph has now become a big test for Vaibhav.

warning for the future

Parthiv Patel warned that he will have to face similar balls continuously in international cricket. He said, “When you play at a high level, every bowler will test you where you are weak. If Vaibhav wants to prolong his career, he will have to overcome this weakness as soon as possible.”

Team India’s challenge in the series

Team India is currently trailing 0-2 in the 5-match series. After the first match was washed out by rain, India have suffered two consecutive defeats. Now it is a do or die situation for Team India in the fourth T20. Fans are hopeful that young Vaibhav Suryavanshi will improve his technique and play big innings and help the team make a comeback in the series.
