Bangladesh wk-batter Litton Das has been ruled out of the ongoing ODI series against Zimbabwe after failing to recover from a hamstring injury.

Parvex Hossain Emon has been named as Litton’s replacement for the second and third ODIs.

Litton Das missed out on the first ODI of the series and will be missing the entire series. He will continue his rehab in Dhaka. In his absence, Bangladesh suffered a 25-run defeat in a low-scoring encounter in the first ODI.

The 31-year-old has played in 104 ODIs, where he scored 2869 runs with an average of 30.84 and a high score of 176.

“Litton had already missed the first ODI and is still not match fit,” said Bangladesh physio Bayjedul Islam Khan.

“He underwent a fitness test today, and the outcome was not satisfactory. With back-to-back ODIs coming up, we don’t think he will make sufficient progress to play any part in the series.”

Nahid Rana picked a six-wicket haul, setting up a pace for low score encounter. However, they failed to chase the target as they bowled out for 116 runs with Nurul Hasan (31) being the highest scorer.

Towhid Hridoy added up 25 runs, but the batting collapse has powered a massive defeat in the first game of the series.

The second and third ODI are scheduled for July 09 and 11 at Harare Sports Club, Harare.

Following the ODI series, the three-match T20I series will be played on July 15, 17 and 19, with all the games to be played at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo.
