South African legend Herschelle Gibbs made a massive remark on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and the other Indian batters after the Men in Blue lost the third T20I by 125 runs on Tuesday, July 7, at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.
India were dismissed for just 76 while chasing a 202-run target. Sooryavanshi, who scored 14 on his debut in the last game, departed for 13 on Tuesday. He went for a pull shot to a short delivery just outside leg-stump and gloved it on to wicketkeeper Jos Buttler.
Replying to a fan on 'X' talking about Sooryavanshi's dismissal, Gibbs said that the 15-year-old and the other Indian batters need to take a leaf out of Virat Kohli's book on how to chase targets.
"Did these guys not learn anything from virat ? He always gave himself a chance when chasing or setting, never rushed," his reply read.
In another reply on the same tweet, Gibbs slammed the Indian batters for their lack of patience while chasing the 202-run target, which he believes wasn't too stiff.
"The target wasn’t big ,all their batters showed no patience of getting in first.
Golden rule , you can’t score runs if you don’t get in," his tweet read.
India are 0-2 down in the five-match series with two more games to play. The fourth T20I is scheduled to be held at the County Ground in Bristol on Thursday, July 9.
