The United States of America defeated Bangladesh by six runs in the second match to clinch the three-match T20I series. The hosts defended 144, restricting the visitors to 138 in 19.3. Ali Khan was named the Player of the Match for taking three wickets in the contest.
US posted 144/6, with Monank Patel scoring 42 runs off 38 balls, laced with 3 fours and 1 six. He was supported by Steven Taylor (31) as the opening pair added 44 runs in 6.4 overs.
Aaron Jones struck 35 runs to help in taking the total to a respectable position. Rishad Hossain, Shakib Al Hasan and Shoriful Islam took two wickets each for Bangladesh.
The target was not big, considering the experience of the visitors. However, the batters couldn’t carry on despite starts.
Najmul Hossain Shanto (36), Shakib Al Hasan (30) and Towhid Hridoy (25) were unable to score fifties.
Saurabh Netravalkar and Shadley van Schalkwyk dismissed two batters each, respectively. US had thumped Bangladesh by 5 wickets in the opening game.
