Netherlands made sudden changes in T20 World Cup 2024 team, 2 players left out of the team

Netherlands had announced its team on May 13 for the T20 World Cup 2024 starting next month. That team included Fred Klaassen and Daniel Doram. He suffered an injury due to which he had to be out of the tournament. This is the reason why the Netherlands were forced to make changes in their World Cup squad. The T20 World Cup is being jointly hosted by USA and West Indies.

Kyle Klein and Saqib Zulfiqar have been included in the 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup as replacements. At the same time, Ryan Klein has been included in the list of reserve players. Right-arm fast bowler Kyle has represented the Netherlands in only three international matches so far, making his debut in February earlier this year. Saqib, on the other hand, is making a comeback to T20 International cricket after almost five years, he last played T20 International cricket in August 2019. However, he has been playing consistently in the ODI setup. He was part of the Netherlands cricket team in the ODI World Cup 2023.

Netherlands are currently busy preparing for the T20 World Cup with the ongoing T20 International tri-series against Scotland and Ireland on home soil. In the T20 World Cup 2024, Netherlands has been placed in Group D along with South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. Netherlands will play two practice matches before the World Cup. The first practice match will be against Sri Lanka on May 28 and the second against Canada on May 30. She will play her first match in the mega event against Nepal on May 4 in Dallas.
