Talking about the possibilities of coaching in the future, De Villiers said that he would enjoy it and is looking forward to coaching. Let us tell you that at present Rahul Dravid is the head coach of India and his tenure is going to end after the ICC T-20 World Cup 2024. BCCI is not in favor of extending Dravid's tenure and Rahul himself does not want to continue in this post further. In such a situation, when De Villiers was asked a question on this matter during a conversation with News 18, the former player gave an interesting answer.

He said, “I think I will enjoy coaching whenever I do it but there are some things that I will not enjoy but I will learn them with time. Anything is possible with time and I can think about it on my feet. I will get to learn as I go along. However, I feel that there are some things in the coaching job that I will enjoy a lot.”

The former African player further said, “The things I have learned in the last few years and the maturity I have gained at the age of 40. When I look back at my career, many things are clear. In such a situation, I think that this learning can be very valuable for some young players and even some senior players. I would love to work with some players and as a coach there are some things that do not come to my mind right now. However, I think things can change in the future.”
