Lucknow: It has been 17 years since the Indian Premier League (IPL) started and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has not been able to win a single title so far. Veteran batsman Virat Kohli has been playing for this franchise since 2008 and he is the highest run-scorer in this tournament. Kohli has given his best for this team but despite this the team has failed to win the title. In such a situation, former England captain Kevin Pietersen believes that if Virat wants to win the IPL trophy, then he should leave RCB and join another team.

Pietersen believes that Kohli is such a great player and he deserves at least one trophy. Let us tell you that Kohli also performed very well in IPL 2024 but despite this RCB could not win the trophy. Actually, Bangalore did not perform well at the beginning of this season and won only one match out of the first 8. After this, he made an incredible comeback in the tournament and made his place in the playoffs by winning 6 consecutive matches. However, RCB had to face defeat in the match played against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday and with this their campaign ended. The former English player has given a big reaction during a conversation on Star Sports.
He said, “I have said it many times before and I will say it again that great players from other sports leave their teams in search of respect elsewhere. Once again Virat worked very hard to win the Orange Cap but still the team failed. I understand the brands and values he brings to the team but Virat Kohli deserves a trophy. He deserves to play in a team that can win him a trophy.”
Giving the example of football players, Pietersen further said, “In that game, star players change clubs to win the trophy. I think now the time has come for Virat to think deeply about this. Great footballers like Beckham, Messi and Ronaldo have also left their clubs and now Kohli should also think about this.”
