Asian Games 2026: India name women's cricket team for title defence in Aichi-Nagoya - full squad

The BCCI announced the Indian women's cricket team for the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. Harmanpreet Kaur will captain for the second straight time, with Smriti Mandhana as vice-captain.

The 15-member squad includes experienced names like Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh, and Renuka Thakur. Shreyanka Patil is named subject to fitness clearance.

The Games run from September 19 to October 4, with women's cricket scheduled from September 17 to 22. Eight teams will compete in a direct knockout format starting with quarter-finals.

India are defending champions after winning gold at Hangzhou 2023, beating Sri Lanka in the final. Cricket returned to the Asian Games at Hangzhou after a nine-year absence.

India also secured a team quota for the LA 2028 Olympics as the highest-placed Asian side at the Women's T20 World Cup.

The Indian men's team will be led by Shreyas Iyer.
