The Indian cricket team’s proposed tour of Sri Lanka in August has now become a topic of discussion. According to reports, clouds of crisis are looming over the organization of the three-match T20 series to be played between India and Sri Lanka. It is being told that the possibility of cancellation of this series has increased significantly.
The Indian team has to tour Sri Lanka in August, where first two Test matches and then three T20 matches are proposed. The Test series is part of the World Test Championship, while there is now uncertainty regarding the organization of the T20 series.
According to reports, there were long talks between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Sri Lanka Cricket Board regarding the T20 series. However, at present there is a possibility that the three-match T20 series will not be organised.
The upcoming schedule of the Indian team is very busy. Team India has to play a three-match T20 series against Zimbabwe in July. After this, two test matches are also to be played on the Sri Lanka tour in August, due to which the schedule has become more busy.
According to reports, after the devastating Cyclone Ditvaha that hit Sri Lanka last year, the BCCI and the Sri Lanka Cricket Board had planned that the income from the proposed T20 series would be used to help the affected people. However, according to the latest information, the possibility of organizing this series is considered very less.
At present, no official announcement has been made by any board regarding the T20 series. In such a situation, now the eyes of cricket fans are fixed on the next decision of both the cricket boards.
