The fast bowler Harshit Rana has been added to the India Squad for the third ODI against Afghanistan, marking his return from injury.

He has out of international action since his knee injury prior to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup earlier this year. He sustained a ligament strain in his right knee during India’s T20 Warmup game against South Africa.

He underwent surgery in February and also missed the entire IPL season. However, he has linked up with the squad ahead of final ODI against Afghanistan in Chennai.

However, he has recovered from his injury, making a full recovery and is ready to return.

“The Men’s Selection Committee has added Mr Harshit Rana to the India squad for the third and final IDFC First Bank ODI against Afghanistan,” India said via a statement.

The Men in Blues will be aiming for a whitewash in the series when they meet the Afghans at Chennai.

The final ODI match is set to be played on June 20 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
