ODI World Cup 2027: ODI World Cup is to be held in 2027 i.e. next year. This time the tournament will be hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. It is a big question whether Team India’s two great batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will play in this World Cup or not. BCCI has started preparing its roadmap for this tournament. Now BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia has given a big statement regarding ISC. Let us tell you that both Rohit and Virat have retired from Test and T20 Internationals and are now seen playing only in ODI and IPL.
Indian team’s preparations for the 2027 World Cup are going on continuously.
According to sources, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia has said that the preparations of the Indian team for the 2027 World Cup are going on continuously. Help of all the big and important people associated with cricket is being taken in making this plan. He also made it clear that whatever planning is going on with senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, it will not be told to people outside the media right now. Devjit Saikia said that as the head of the board, we have an excellent team of experts. We support all teams. Whatever decision is taken, the cricket committee, selectors, support staff, head coach and the players themselves are involved. There are constant conversations between us.
He further said that that is why we do not need to hold a separate meeting on this issue, because this work is going on. Also, I don’t think I should say anything about these plans to the media or the general public, because these are very secret and strategic matters. I know it’s a hymn to ashes. These are things that should remain within the scope of board meetings only.
If we talk about Rohit Sharma, he is currently playing in the ODI series against Afghanistan. In the second ODI played in Lucknow, he played a good inning of 48 runs in 39 balls. At the same time, Virat Kohli is out of this series due to hamstring injury. It is expected that he can be seen playing in the ODI series to be played on the England tour next month i.e. in July.
